It acts as leader, collaborator, innovator, role model, champion, and subject matter expert within the company’s IT organization, contributing to the successful developmentESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Function as top-level subject matter expert on assigned technology stack(s).
Research and maintain knowledge of emerging technologies and their application to the business and existing solutions.
Actively participate in architectural planning, cost modeling, resource and project planning to support the strategic needs of the company.
Lead existing and emerging technology and development processes, ensuring alignment with business goals and strategies.
Identify and develop sound application architecture patterns, frameworks, and standards for use across IT to drive application architecture consistency.
Apply in-depth knowledge of programming languages and designing, coding, and testing to deliver highly innovative solutions, including developing technology standards and procedures as required.
Build and maintain strong partnerships with all levels of management to drive improvements to the company’s entire application portfolio.
Be a resource for teammates at all levels, including overseeing the work of others and provide coaching and training for a small team.
Act as an Agile champion and leverages continuous engineering practices to deliver business value.

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent education and related training.
Minimum seven years’ experience in leading edge, complex technologies and techniques with additional experience within software development.
Strong experience with programming technologies such as Python, Microsoft .NET, VB.Net, C#, C, ASP.Net and SQL Server, Azure IaaS and PaaS cloud services, Azure Data Services, and Azure OpenAI.
Working knowledge of automation technologies such as Microsoft Power Automate, UiPath or Automation Anywhere.
Proven experience integrating with proprietary and COTS applications, using API best practices for architecture and development.
Recognized in the industry for experience and knowledge, with in-depth knowledge and experience in information systems and ability to identify, apply, and implement best practices.
Understanding of multiple disciplines and processes related to the position, and experience applying and utilizing enterprise architectural standards and design principles.
Solid experience working knowledge of UML and design tools.
Ability to plan and manage projects independently through a culture of trust and accountability, and to drive change across the IT organization with strong business and financial acumen and effective communication skills.
Ability to establish strong relationships within the technical community.
Ability to unify activities within the technology community, coordinating with other businesses and engineering organizations.
Working experience in an agile environment, including agile development and release practices.
Ability to contribute effectively as a visionary for future technological capabilities and operational scenarios.
Ability to work within a demanding environment and manage time/priorities across multiple different projects.
Preferred Qualifications
Twelve years’ experience in technology.
Five years’ experience in the commercial P&C industry, or equivalent insurance industry experience.
Wholesale brokerage experience.
Proficiency working with Microsoft cloud technologies and related tooling.
Experience with Azure DevOps, such as CICD, templating and integrations.
Experience working with infrastructure as code, either Terraform or Bicep.
Experience with AI technologies; Microsoft OpenAI highly preferred.
