Provides technical expertise in health and safety standards, hazard assessment, accident investigations, and emergency response.Key Responsibilities:

Provides process ownership and expertise to ensure compliance with global standards and industry best practices for the following PSM elements: HAZOP, PHA, LOPA, electrostatics.

Prepare, scribe and/or facilitate HAZOP, PHA, LOPA, electrostatics risk assessment.

Develop and/or review global safety standards/tools together with global safety engineers.

Member of the change control board to assure all vital actions are triggered related to PSM during process and equipment changes.

Establishes a wide internal and external knowledge network, performs regular benchmarks within industry to drive continuous improvement.

Acts as a lead spokesperson for HAZOP, PHA, LOPA, electrostatics during internal and external audits.

Take leadership role in CURVE use and tracking at the site level.

Reviews hazard assessments and identifies areas for improvement.

Act as key Subject Mater Expert in Change Control oversight activities for the EHS department.

QualificationsEducation:

Bachelor's degree or University equivalent in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or Chemical Engineering.

Experience and Skills:Required:

A minimum four (4) years of related work experience in chemical, pharmaceutical or food processing facility that required the use of chemical processes involving solvents and/or highly reactive chemicals.

Preferred:

Up to date knowledge of government regulations related to EPA RMP & OSHA Process Safety Management standards, and company policies.

Ability to collaborate with people at all levels of the organization.

Ability to apply computer software and customize programs to meet business needs.

Knowledge of chemical/pharmaceutical manufacturing plant equipment and processes.

Other:

This position will be located in Athens, GA and may require up to 10% domestic or international travel.

While performing the duties of this job, regularly required to stand, sit, walk, and talk or hear.

Occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell.

Must be able to qualify for respiratory protective equipment use.
