Assistant Event Coordinator
California, San diego, 92101 San diego USAPLEASE NOTE THIS IS A 4 MONTH EMPLOYMENT. Please only apply if you are looking for contract employment through mid-December. Candidate must live in North County San Diego.
We currently have an opening for a seasonal Event Coordinator Assistant for the months of August- Mid December to be responsible for assisting our Event Coordinators with the planning, coordination, management, and execution of our Health & Lifestyle events during the fall season. If you are the personality type that enjoys coordinating events and engaging with people, this is a great position for you.
This position will work in our Carlsbad office as well as onsite of event locations during the event day. We are seeking a detail-oriented person with strong administrative skills and the ability to multitask. You must have a “can-do” attitude and a desire to join a dedicated team of event management professionals who strive to deliver the best customer service each and every day.
Part-time: 40 hrs per a week M-F
Pay Rate: Hourly $23/hr
Work Schedule: 2/3 in office and 1/3 on event location site.
In office Roles & Responsibilities:
Assist Event Coordinators with event planning, coordination, and communications
Manage event supplies - inventory, ordering, stocking, expense tracking
Research and negotiate competitive pricing with rental companies and food suppliers
Creating invitations and flyers
Roles & Responsibilities on the Day of the Event:
Follows direction from Onsite Event Coordinator Lead
Assists with unloading and reloading company vans with event set-up items.
Follows Onsite Event Manual policies and procedures.
Reports for duty on time as required on the day of the event
Recognizes the importance of event details, client specifications and requests.
Demonstrates and exhibits teamwork, creating a positive event environment.
Required Skills:
Strong administrative background, keen attention to detail, customer-service oriented
Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills
Top notch computer skills: MSWord, Excel, Outlook
Previous sales experience is preferred
Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Must have a valid drivers license
Ideal Candidates:
A minimum of two years of administrative work experience
Proactive self-starter, creative, resourceful, reliable, and very detail-oriented
Willing to work and contribute to a highly collaborative and fun team environment
Possesses a positive attitude and enjoys helping others
Quick study, eager to troubleshoot, and enjoys learning new tools and methods
