courage bagels seeking experienced bakers for part time opportunity

As a member of our baking team, you are responsible for delivering on our promise of fresh, perfectly-timed bagels, all day. Our customers are excited to be here and we want them to get their food as quickly as possible, while maintaining the standards that they have come to expect from Courage Bagels. To thrive in our high-paced environment, this role requires kitchen experience in a fast paced environment, problem solving skills, the ability to integrate and thrive on an experienced team and lastly, true enthusiasm for fresh, nourishing food.

You must be willing to follow directions from leadership exactly as processes are likely to be different than other jobs you may have had. Adaptability and a good attitude are crucial to your success in this role.

This role will start as part time, but more hours will be available as the candidate shows commitment to the role and excels in our fast paced environment

You will be responsible for…

- Owning the boiling and baking process with your station team in a very busy environment.

- Maintaining the organization and cleanliness of your station at all times

- Upholding/maintaining the positive energy of the team

What we need from you:

- Generally availability Thursday through Monday from 6:30am to 3pm, to fill in the gaps as need with current team.

- Based locally to the 90029 zip code with reliable transportation to work

- Current California Food Handler Certification, or commitment to get one upon hiring.

Required Qualifications:

- Minimum 2 years experience working in a food preparation role, preferably with primarily ovens and repetitive preparation.

- Excellent face-to-face communication skills with team members and sometimes guests.

- Willingness to go the extra mile to make our customers feel welcome and cared for.

- High-level of patience and the ability to work in a fast-paced, busy environment.

- Ability to understand instructions and deliver results without constant supervision.

- Urgency and eye to maintain aesthetic and cleanliness standards.

- Ability to move for 8 hours a day and safely lift 30 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Flexible attitude and open to take on extra tasks, as necessary

- Knowledge and love for high-quality food and ingredients
