Role Description

Law Tanning Co. is seeking a skilled and dedicated Multi Craft Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. The Maintenance Team will be responsible for the upkeep, repair, and maintenance of all machinery and equipment within our facility. This role is critical to ensuring that our production operations run smoothly and efficiently. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fabrication, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, with experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment. This is a full-time on-site role for a Maintenance Technician at Law Tanning LLC. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and repair tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the facility in Greater Milwaukee.

Qualifications

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a maintenance mechanic in a manufacturing or industrial setting. Experience in the leather or textile industry is a plus.

Equipment Maintenance and Repair skills

Troubleshooting and Preventive Maintenance abilities

Experience in Industrial Maintenance

Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations

Welding and fabrication skills

5 years experience in industrial maintenance is a plus

Minor electrical experience is a plus

Must be willing to learn

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members.

Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), work in confined spaces, and stand for extended periods.

Key Responsibilities:

Preventive Maintenance: Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on all manufacturing equipment, including leather tanning machinery, conveyors, pumps, boilers, and facilities.

Troubleshooting and Repair: Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues with machinery, and execute repairs to minimize downtime.

Installation: Assist in the installation of new equipment and machinery, ensuring compliance with safety standards and proper operation.

Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, including lockout/tagout procedures, and ensure all equipment is operating safely.

Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, parts used, and preventive maintenance schedules.

Emergency Repairs: Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, assess the situation, and implement repairs to return machinery to operation as quickly as possible.

Collaboration: Work closely with production supervisors and other team members to identify and address maintenance needs, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels of maintenance supplies and parts, and order replacements as needed.

Training: Assist in training production staff on proper equipment use.
