Heavy Equipment, Utility and Contractor Sales Representative
Washington, Seattle-tacoma, 98101 Seattle-tacoma USAOwen Equipment, an Owen Company, is looking to hire an experienced Account Territory Manager to join our growing team. We are one of the largest Vactor and Elgin dealers in the United States and sell, service and rent sewer cleaners, vacuum excavators, street sweepers and related accessories We are expanding our product line to include Elliott & Versalift targeted to the Utility sector to complement our Truvac Excavation line. We maintain five full-service locations in Portland, Oregon; Kent, Washington; Spokane, Washington; Fairfield, California; and Salt Lake City, Utah and our customer base consists of the largest municipalities and contractors in the Western U.S & are looking to develop and expand our customer base to the Utility sector both to private and public sector. Our equipment is critical to keeping our streets and sewer systems clean, locating buried infrastructure during construction projects, as well as disaster recovery and helping to build and maintain our electrical grid.

Salary: Outstanding earning opportunity with base salary plus commission. For the right highly motivated and driven professional salesperson $175K+ annually is achievable. Includes company auto, expenses & laptop and top-tier service and support from our dedicated team of professionals.

Job Summary:
In this position you will prospect, sell and rent equipment, parts and services to Contractors/Private and Public Utilities in a designated territory that includes Oregon and southwest Washington. Sales objectives will be met or exceeded by selling and renting using professional sales techniques, consultative selling and demonstrations. Utility Rentals & sales will be a strong focus as we build and develop that portion of the business late 2024 and into the future.
Job Description:
Providing excellent customer service and follow-up during all stages and aspects of the sales cycle and rental process
Maintaining long-term customer relationships by establishing communication channels with all relevant departments of your accounts including, but not limited to, equipment operators, mechanics, and purchasing.
Representation and presentation of Company’s products to medium-to-large audiences at trade shows and other speaking engagements
Demonstration of large vacuum trucks, street sweepers, and boom trucks to prospective customers
Preparation of specifications for items that have gone out to bid.
Meet and exceed sales targets by making quality prospecting calls on a continual basis including cold calls and in-person introductory visits.
Complete and deliver all required paperwork, expense reports, sales pipelines, forecasts, and contracts as required by company policy and management.
Maintain customer information, appointments, and opportunity information in company’s CRM program.
Must be a strong team player and be willing to produce win/win results to benefit customers and co-workers.
Job Requirements:
Minimum 2-3 yrs. experience in Outside Sales with proven track record in exceeding performance objectives (Utility equipment sales and knowledge will give the right candidate an preference over others)
Must possess a valid driver’s license and insurance.
Must either have a valid CDL license or willing to get one within the first three months of employment; CDL required to demonstrate large equipment, and this is an absolute job requirement in this position. Company will assist in helping you achieve this requirement.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (written, oral and presentation) required for communication and cooperation with the company’s customer base and fellow team members ie.
o Verbal presentations to large audiences
o Equipment demonstrations to potential buyers
o Preparation of sales quotes and bid specifications.
o Cold calls on the phone or in person
o Discussions at company meetings
o Problem solving with company’s team.
Must be able to retain and convey complex information relating to the operation and features of Company’s product lines.
Strongly customer focused to promote customer satisfaction, resolution, and loyalty.
Clean driving record
Overnight travel required for company meetings for about 8-10 nights per year.
Must have the ability to lift and move 50 pounds plus on a regular basis
Experience with environmental equipment and products a plus
Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point
