Blue Mouse Theatre - Assistant Manager
Washington, Seattle-tacoma, 98101 Seattle-tacoma USAThe job of the assistant manager at the Blue Mouse Theatre is to assist the general manager in overseeing personnel and in running the day-to-day operations of our community theater. We’re looking for someone with a strong sense of organization, who is efficient and has effective communication skills, as well as the ability to help complete the day-to-day operation. The candidate must have some management / cash handling experience, understand business operations and be willing to work with / mentor theater employees to provide the best customer service. Most importantly, she or he must have a love for the movies!
This is a part-time, hourly position. Hourly rate will be based on prior work experience.
Job Responsibilities (Not all-encompassing):
To assist the general manager with the following:
- Manage personnel - Provide direction, coaching and leadership to personnel. Includes scheduling, hiring, and training new employees
- Provide fast, helpful, friendly customer service by recognizing issues before they occur, resolving the ones that do, and ensuring our community members have a positive experience at the Mouse
- Maintain a building that is clean, safe and in good repair
- Serve fresh, appetizing and properly prepared food and beverages
- Maintain theater inventories. Includes weekly ordering, organizing and counting
- Operate the Theater for private events including birthday parties, private screenings and film festivals
- Operate and maintain our digital movie projector
- Operate and maintain our POS and FOH Movie Theater Management System (RTS)
- Develop, organize and execute movie-themed promotions
Qualifications:
- Prior management experience in a customer service field required. Preferably in cash handling environment
- Understand the need / value of possessing and maintaining a positive, energetic attitude
- Comfortable with enforcing theater policies and handling customers
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Ability to be pro-actively organized and interact with technology to implement organization
- Comfortable communicating and working with customers, supervisors, peers and vendors
- Prior money handling / counting experience.
- To be able to stand, walk, lift, twist and bend on a frequent basis.
- Comfortable working with computers and web-based systems as a primary method of communication and interaction, in support of the Blue Mouse
- Have reliable transportation
- We’re a movie theater - the work is on nights, weekends and holidays
- Valid ID and Social Security Card or Birth Certificate OR a Valid Passport
