Center 1 (19052), United States of America, McLean, VirginiaSenior Business Manager, Emerging Payments Strategy & AnalyticsThe Emerging Payments organization develops and maintains innovative payment experiences for Capital One customers, including digital wallets, virtual card numbers, merchant checkout experiences, transaction intelligence, and new commercialization opportunities. The Emerging Payments Strategy & Analytics team drives all of the analytical and strategic work across the org, including enterprise-level strategy, product-level strategy, strategy execution, monitoring, reporting, ad hoc analyses, insight generation, marketing campaigns, testing and experimentation, business cases, valuations, etc.As a Senior Business Manager on the Emerging Payments Strategy & Analytics team focused on the team’s strategic work, you will help define Capital One’s payments strategy, identify and evaluate untapped areas for investment, and support strategy execution across our product organization and key partners. You will stay on top of industry trends, develop a point-of-view on new developments, and excel in isolating signals from noise to refine our strategic direction. You will communicate complex concepts in compelling and actionable ways to senior audiences, and not be afraid to roll up your sleeves to understand critical details when needed. Drive and support a range of strategic initiatives, partnering with both business and technology stakeholders.

Identify and evaluate new business models and opportunities from emerging technologies. Given the extent of our goals, this may include evaluating potential partnerships, alliances, and acquisitions to advance our strategic agenda.

Package strategic and analytical insights into clear, concise and “executive-ready” presentations.

Communicate findings to senior management and to the broader organization, influencing upwards and laterally to drive organizational change and alignment.

Ensure that our recommendations are driven through to implementation, by providing thought leadership and, when necessary, stepping in to lead execution.

Develop and implement analytical frameworks to monitor and optimize the concrete impact our initiatives are having on key business results.

Ideal candidates will possess:

Experience at a leading management consulting firm and/or within a top tier corporate strategy / venture capital group.

Experience with strategy and innovation in technology, telecom, media, and/or financial services; start-up experience a plus.

Best-in-class analytical capabilities: top-notch quantitative, problem-solving, and conceptual skills.

Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills (including PowerPoint).

High motivation and self-direction, taking personal ownership for results and professional development.

Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and to prioritize, thriving in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree

At least 2 years of experience in quantitative analysis

At least 2 years of experience in qualitative analysis

At least 1 year of experience in people management

At least 1 year of experience in project management

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s Degree in Business or quantitative field such as Finance, Economics, Physical Sciences, Math, Statistics, Engineering

5+ years of experience in quantitative analysis

5+ years of experience in qualitative analysis

2+ years of experience in people management

2+ years of experience in product development

2+ years of experience in financial modeling

2+ years of experience in economic forecasting

2+ years of experience in project management

Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.New York City (Hybrid On-Site): $199,100 - $227,200 for Sr. Business ManagerCandidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
