POSITION OVERVIEWAPPLICATIONS ACCEPTED FROM: DIVISION ONLY SERVICE LINE: Houston Public Works SECTION: Houston Water - Resources and Client Services REPORTING LOCATION: 718 E. Burress WORKDAYS & HOURS: Monday – Friday/8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Subject to change DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Identify duplicate, incomplete, and inconsistent data entries within the Work Management System (Infor IPS). Develop and implement procedures for ongoing data quality improvements. Ensure data adheres to established standards, including formatting, accuracy, and consistency. Communicate data quality improvements to stakeholders and provide recommendations for maintaining clean data. Create instructional materials, guides, presentations, and e-learning modules. Investigates and makes recommendations for addressing issues of medium complexity and/or sensitivity. Lead in-person and virtual training sessions for new and existing users with various skill levels of Infor IPS. Monitor 311 system to detect potential data issues and perform regular audits to ensure data quality. Work closely with system administrators to understand system requirements and ensure data is properly aligned with business needs. Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) to validate the solution’s functionality. Work with technical teams to design solutions that meet business needs. Participates in evaluation and design of workflow, processes, various operations systems, etc. Additional duties, as needed. WORKING CONDITIONSThis position is physically comfortable with discretion of walking, standing, etc. Essentially normal office environment with acceptable lighting, temperature, and air conditions. Occasional ride-along with field staff to aid in various system processes. This is a Houston Public Works Emergency Management position at the Tier III Level. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSMINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS Requires a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Liberal Arts, or a related field. MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSThree (3) years of administrative experience is required. Professional administrative experience may be substituted for the above education requirement on a year-for-year basis. MINIMUM LICENSE REQUIREMENTS None PREFERENCESPreference shall be given to eligible veteran applicants provided such persons possess the qualifications necessary for competent discharge of the duties involved in the position applied for, such persons are among the most qualified candidates for the position, and all other factors in accordance with Executive Order 1-6. Preference will be given to candidates that have: Strong proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., MS Excel, Power BI) Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
