Description We are offering a contract employment opportunity for a Network Engineer in the Transport industry, based in Houston, Texas. The role involves a range of responsibilities related to network design, configuration, and management, with an emphasis on Cisco route/switch and data center architecture. Responsibilities: Develop and maintain advanced knowledge in Cisco route/switch Manage and maintain Palo Alto Firewalls Design and implement data center architecture Leverage advanced knowledge of Azure/AWS cloud networking Deploy and manage NAC with tools like Cisco ISE or Aruba ClearPass Maintain intermediate knowledge of wireless networking, specifically Extreme Handle load balancers/GSLB such as Citrix, F5, A10 Utilize intermediate knowledge of SDWAN Implement automation strategies with tools like Ansible Maintain basic knowledge of Microsoft Azure AD, DNS, DHCP, O365 Suite Handle VMWare, vSphere, VDI with basic understanding Utilize skills in Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), Checkpoint, Cisco ASA, Cisco Routers, Cisco Technologies, Computer Hardware, Configuration Management, Design, Eigrp, Firewall Technologies. Requirements Proficiency in Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) Experience with Checkpoint technologies Proficiency in working with Cisco ASA Experience with Cisco Routers Familiarity with Cisco Technologies Proficiency in handling Computer Hardware Experience in Configuration Management Proven skills in Design Knowledge of Eigrp protocol Familiarity with Firewall Technologies Relevant experience in the transport industry Familiarity with Network Engineering concepts and best practices Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot network issues Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to work collaboratively within a team as well as independently Willingness to stay updated with the latest industry trends and advancements Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field Relevant certifications in networking or related field would be a plus.
