Description We are seeking a skilled Desktop Support Technician to join our team for the 3rd shift schedule. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of ITIL principles and be adept at providing technical support to end-users in adherence to these best practices. This position will primarily focus on supporting our Windows environment and ensuring the smooth operation of our IT systems during non-business hours.

Provide technical support to end-users during the 3rd shift schedule, ensuring timely resolution of incidents and requests.

Utilize System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) for deploying software, managing updates, and enforcing security policies across the enterprise network.

Manage IT incidents, requests, changes, and problems using the ServiceNow ticketing system.

Administer Active Directory, including adding users and workstations to the domain, resetting passwords, and managing end-user accounts.

Perform remote patch and update deployment using SCCM to ensure system security and compliance.

Assist with imaging processes to create master images of computer operating systems for deployment to multiple machines.

Directly install software on server machines as needed for operational requirements.

Physically rack routers and switches in data centers or network closets as part of network infrastructure setup and maintenance.

Configure network ports to belong to specific VLANs or WAN connections for network segmentation and routing.

Participate in network optimization efforts to improve performance, reliability, and efficiency through various techniques such as traffic shaping and Quality of Service (QoS).

Requirements

Proficiency in ITIL principles and best practices for IT service management.

Experience with System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) for software deployment and patch management.

Familiarity with ServiceNow or similar IT service management ticketing systems.

Strong knowledge of Active Directory administration, including user and workstation management.

Understanding of Windows operating systems and desktop support processes.

Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues independently and efficiently.

Knowledge of network infrastructure components such as routers, switches, and VLANs.

Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Flexibility to work during non-business hours, including weekends and holidays.
