The support specialist will answer all incoming calls and route them to the appropriate departments or Radiologist’s office. This position requires comprehension of a multitude of workflows related to the electronic delivery of customer’s images to physician offices as well as internal departments including Surgery ICU and the Emergency Department. The ability to transfer digital images to hardcopy film as requested is also a requirement as well as digitizing outside film and transferring them to PACS. Occasional transportation of patients to and from Imaging may be required. The specialist must understand utilize and troubleshoot a network of computerized systems for the processing of information archival and retrieval of imaging studies. Rotation of work assignments with varying degrees of complexity is required in a manner that promotes teamwork collaboration honesty respect and confidentiality which reflects the mission and philosophy of Memorial Healthcare System.

Consistently demonstrates by actions excellent customer relations skills to all internal and external customers. Always practices AIDET.

Ensures that correct anatomy sequences are burned to disc.

Find physical records using the medical record number.

Utilizes and maintains “Release of Information” records per hospital policy.

Maintains fluent throughput of customers by communicating via telephone intercom fax machine etc. in a manner that exhibits high quality customer service and communications skills and includes the AIDET philosophy.

Provides coverage for other departmental support positions as needed.

Ability and knowledge to create a reference study in hospitals radiology system for placement of outside imaging from other facilities PACS systems.

Demonstrates knowledge and ability to problem solve/resolves issues with the disc burning system (Rimage) for PACS.

Runs and ensures appropriate distribution of reports as needed.

Demonstrates good judgment in prioritizing data management.

Other duties as assigned by management.
