Accounting Clerk

Description We are offering a short-term contract employment opportunity for an Accounting Clerk in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The selected candidate will join our non-profit team, where they will be entrusted with tasks such as processing invoices, maintaining financial records, and handling account reconciliations. Responsibilities: Processing invoices with accuracy and efficiency Conducting account reconciliation tasks as required Maintaining meticulous records related to accounts payable Handling data entry tasks to keep financial information up-to-date Utilizing Microsoft Excel for various accounting functions Participating in the organization and clean-up of financial files Responding to and resolving any billing inquiries or issues Monitoring account activities and taking appropriate actions when necessary Requirements Must possess a strong understanding of account reconciliation procedures and techniques Proven experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) is necessary Prior experience in billing and invoice processing is highly desirable Proficiency in data entry with a keen eye for details and accuracy Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and complex formulas Familiarity with the non-profit industry and its unique accounting needs is a plus Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are required Ability to work in a team-oriented environment as well as independently Strong organizational skills, with the capacity to prioritize and manage multiple tasks Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred Commitment to ethical business conduct and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
