Cultivation Technician (full OR part-time)

Deep Green, LLC, a RI-based cannabis cultivator located in Warwick, RI. Deep Green is seeking a full-time Cultivation Technician for our grow house. The Cultivation Technician works under the direct supervision of the Cultivation Manager and is primarily responsible for farming plants, transferring plants at points of lifecycle, harvesting plants, and cleaning the cultivation. Daily duties include, assisting the Cultivation Manager in:

- Measuring and mixing nutrient and plant applications;

- Watering, feeding and pruning plants;

- Sanitizing, cleaning, and maintaining the cultivation area and cultivation equipment;

- Inspecting plants for overall health, pests, disease, or sex change;

- Inspecting irrigation equipment in the grow rooms;

- Performing run-off tests of pH and EC;

- Performing trellising and staking;

- Performing training and topping of plants;

- Performing foliar sprays;

- Moving plants through plant phases;

- Assisting with the grinding and disposing of green waste;

- Assisting in tracking plants from birth to harvest by ensuring proper and accurate documentation;

- Documenting the application of all nutrient and/or substances applied to any plant located within the cultivation facility;

- Reporting malfunctions within the cultivation area;

- Monitoring and maintaining plant production quality control measures; and

- Completing other tasks as assigned by the Cultivation Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

A Cultivation Technician must possess a high level of adaptability to match the landscape of a growing business in a quickly evolving industry. Physical fitness is also critical in performing some of the positions more demanding tasks. More specifically, a successful candidate must:

- Be at least 21 years of age;

- Be willing to undergo a comprehensive background check;

- Be task-oriented, detail-oriented and organized;

- Be able to follow instruction and carry out determined protocol;

- Be able to complete tasks efficiently with minimal oversight;

- Be able to communicate effectively and maintain positive relationships with co-workers;

- Be willing and able to complete numerous tasks requiring physical labor throughout the day;

- Be able to stand for prolonged periods of time, bend, lift, and stoop with ease;

- Be able to lift up to 60 lbs. unassisted and up to 80 lbs. assisted;

- Be able to maintain hygiene in accordance with harvesting activities;

- Be able to maintain compliance with RI DBR's rules and regulations and with other applicable state law.

EMPLOYMENT DETAILS

Job Type: full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday OR part-time, 20 hours per week, Monday-Friday

Work Location: in-person; Warwick, RI

Salary: $18.00 per hour (increases provided commensurate with duration of employment and task load)

Workplace conditions: There is a moderate but consistent level of noise throughout much of the facility’s cultivation area due to running a large HVAC system and fans to maintain a consistent environment. Employees may be frequently exposed to an environment of natural chemical fumes, herbal aromas, airborne particles, and wet and/or humid conditions. Employees may have moderate exposure to conditions such as dust and particles that affect the respiratory system, eyes, or skin, depending on department job assignments. Personal Protective Equipment is provided for employees to utilize.
