Finance Department Coordinator

ACCOUNTABILITY: To the mission and goals of Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon (EMO) as determined by the Board of Directors, and as administered by the Executive Director and their delegates.
REPORTS TO: Director of Finance
DIRECT REPORTS: None
LOCATION: In-person at 245 S Bancroft St, Suite B, Portland, OR 97239
HOURS: Non-exempt; Full Time (32 hours)
BENEFITS: Salary range starts at $26.18 per hour. All regular employees (does not include on-call or temporary) are eligible for vacation, holidays, sick leave, 401(k) retirement plan, employee assistance program and employee trainings. Employees in exempt positions or non-exempt positions that are 18 hours per week or more, also receive medical insurance, dental insurance, disability insurance and life insurance, per eligibility requirements.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Schedule meetings throughout the year with the Finance Committee, Endowment Committee, program managers and department heads.
Monitor grant requirements such as necessary reports. Track staff allocations in alignment with grant terms. Check that grants are being spent completely and timely.
Coordinate Core vehicle use. Ensure that all EMO vehicles are properly maintained. Maintain the list of authorized drivers.
Coordinate quarterly time studies and summarize for reports.
Support Finance staff in administrative ways – filing, scanning, etc.
Coordinate with HR Manager to ensure compliance and consistency within both departments.
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to work within the mission, vision and ethics of EMO, and maintain an understanding of the services provided by the programs and projects of EMO.
Knowledge: Experience and comfort working with Microsoft Office. Some general office experience – filing, scanning, copying.
Skills: Able to work independently while maintaining a close relationship with supervisor and co-workers; Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills with the ability to listen to and affirm people from a wide variety of backgrounds and circumstances; Treat all individuals with respect and dignity.
Effort: High level of organization skills. Must be able to multi-task and be able to pivot.
Responsibility: Self-starter, ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Working Conditions: Ability to work in a respectful manner with people of diverse ethnicity, socio-economic circumstances, religion, culture, and sexual orientation; Available some weekends/evenings. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds. Majority of work is performed at a desk.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in the nonprofit world.
