COOK/LINE COOK NEEDED - Soul Food Restaurant!

We are seeking talented and motivated Line Cooks to join our team and help us deliver an exceptional take-out experience to our guests.

Position Overview:

As a Line Cook at Bed Stuy Fish Fry-Bay Plaza, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of seafood dishes and other soul food specialties. You will work in a fast-paced kitchen environment ensuring efficient and high-quality food production.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and cook a wide range of seafood dishes, including fish, shrimp, crab, and lobster, with emphasis on maintaining their freshness and flavor.

- Assist in the preparation of other soul food items such as fried chicken, collard greens, cornbread, macaroni and cheese, and more for the steam line.

- Ensure all food items are cooked to the highest standards, paying close attention to presentation, portion control, and temperature.

- Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all health and safety regulations.

- Assist with inventory management, stock rotation, and ordering of ingredients and supplies.

- Adhere to proper food handling and sanitation procedures to ensure food safety.

Requirements:

- Must have SSN or ITIN #

- Must speak English.

- Previous experience as a Line Cook or relevant role in a fast-paced kitchen environment, preferably with seafood and/or soul food experience.

- Solid understanding of different cooking methods, ingredients, and flavor profiles.

- Knowledge of proper food handling and safety standards.

- Ability to work well under pressure and thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

- Strong teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues.

- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

- Food handling education or certification is a plus.

- Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift over 50 lbs.
