L'avion Café is a vibrant and bustling new aviation-inspired, Parisienne style café that has just opened in the heart of Yorkville on the UES. Known for high-quality coffee, pastries, sandwiches and first-class service, we take pride in creating a fun and welcoming atmosphere, while creating a warm experience for our customers.

We are seeking an experienced Barista / Food Prep (aka first officer) to join our team. At L'Avion, you will play a key role in serving exceptional coffee and food while offering top-notch customer service. If you are passionate about coffee and food, have a friendly and outgoing personality, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages with precision and consistency.

- Prepare and serve a selection of freshly made sandwiches and pastries.

- Greet customers in a friendly and welcoming manner, take orders, and process transactions accurately.

- Maintain cleanliness and organization of all equipment, the service counter, dining and food-prep areas.

- Restock inventory as needed, including coffee beans, syrups, milk, and food items.

- Follow health and safety guidelines at all times.

Requirements:

- Minimum of 2 years of experience making food & coffee based drinks.

- Exceptional knowledge of coffee preparation techniques.

- Excellent customer service and communication skills.

- A positive attitude and a strong work ethic.

- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays.

- NYC Food handler's permit (required, or willingness to sign up for the course).

- Spoken/written French language skills (preferred).
