Grand Army Bar is a celebrated neighborhood cocktail bar and restaurant in Boerum Hill.Our kitchen, led by Executive Chef Jake Keller, focuses on seasonality and seafood. We're looking for a strong lead line cook to join ourBOH team.Individuals must have relevant experience and be willing to contribute to the culture we're trying to build; one in which our confidence and professionalism lets us enjoy our time together day in and day out. This is a kitchen marked by mutual respect, hard work, and fun. Collaboration and good working relationships are just as important to us as our food. We value our employees and their quality of life. Rather than playing by the book or doing something because "it's always been done this way," we're writing our own rules and prioritizing the things that truly mean something to us.We are a small and strong kitchen and hope to find individuals to invest in for the future growth of the restaurant and the company. Requirements: 2-3years minimum as a line cook (seafood experience preferred) Open-minded and flexible, enjoys collaboration Self-driven and curious. Being proactive is a must, as is the ability to maturely receive feedback and directions Oyster shucking experience Ambitious, long-term goals in the industry Integrity. Just do the right thing. Strong work ethic, strong sense of urgency, and responsibility; ability to maintain excellence in a fast-paced environment High standards of cleanliness, organization, and attention to detail Professional with colleagues and strong communication skills DOH Food Handlers certified or ability to be trained on / follow DOH standards
