Accounting Clerk

Description Robert Half is looking to fill the vacant position of an Accounting Clerk for an industry-leading organization with a growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for matching invoices to purchase orders and/or vouchers, data entry and assisting in the process of Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R). The Accounting Clerk position is a permanent opportunity and is situated in the Brooklyn, New York, area.Key responsibilities

Resolve discrepancies by examining possible sources of disagreement, recreating likely actions, and identifying the effect on other accounts; generate correction documents as required

Assist Accounts Receivable with processing daily invoices/credit, applying cash receipts, and collecting past due balances

Handle accounts payable tasks: vendor invoices and disbursement filing, A/P invoice matching & filing

Perform general accounting tasks, such as G/L account reconciliation and month-end closing, and other ad hoc projects

Classify documents with the proper expenditure codes and accounting codes

Assist with other related duties and special projects as assigned

Use various methods to add financial information to journals and ledgers

Utilize a number of sources to create statements and reports Requirements - Qualified in Spreadsheet and ERP system

Solid understanding of Spanish Language

Data entry experience preferred

1+ years of accounting experience required

AA or BS/BA in Accounting or related field preferred

Be able to prioritize workload and perform in a fast-paced and challenging environment
