Position Summary:


We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Program Supervisor.

The mission of the mental health service at Department of Youth and Family Justice (DYFJ) detention facilities is to effectively identify juvenile justice youth in need of mental health services (JJMHS) during their incarceration, provide quality individual and group interventions through an adolescent mental health treatment model, and ensure the continuation of mental health services upon release to the community through effective discharge planning. The Program Supervisor shall be under the administrative supervision of the Executive Director with on-site supervision by the Medical Director. Program Supervisor will be responsible for design, implementation, and management of all administrative components of the Juvenile Justice Mental Health Services. They will have administrative supervision of the Program Coordinators.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Oversee and manage all aspects of the contract budget, including tracking of all services provided at Crossroads, Horizon Juvenile Centers and Non- Secured Detention Centers.

2. Oversee and manage the daily administrative operations at Crossroads, Horizon and the Non-Secured Detention Centers.

3. Develop and oversee information management requirements, including record and timekeeping systems, clinical assessment and treatment records.

4. Supervise and implement all information management systems at Crossroads and Horizon.

5. Design, coordinate, and oversee data collection systems for contract reporting and special projects.

6. Serve as liaison between Bellevue, NYU, and ACS Juvenile Detention staff for all program related matters.

7. Develop and manage scheduling systems for assessment, psychotherapy, medication management, and group therapy services.

8. Manage policies and procedures manuals and staff orientation manuals, including any variations between the two locations and updating as required.

9. Oversee all reporting and compliance requirements to insure that the department operations and policies are consistent with those of NYU, HHC (Bellevue Hospital Center), and ACS (Horizon and Crossroads Juvenile Centers).

10. Create and maintain any data tracking or information management systems (including forms and procedures) as required to maintain compliance with updated regulatory mandates.

11. Will be responsible for conducting internal program audits, ensuring the program is meeting contractual and regulatory compliance.

12. Responsible for assisting in preparation for all site visits from regulatory agencies as required by ACS, HHC, or other funding agencies

13. Supervise Program Coordinators.

14. Oversee hiring and credentialing of all professional staff on contract.

15. Assist in planning and the delivery of training programs to maintain proficiency of personnel.

16. Oversee ordering of supplies, submission of IT tickets when needed, office assignments and sharing for all services provided at Crossroads and Horizon.

17. Assign and schedule staffing on the basis of workload, space, and equipment

18. Over the staffing coverage at each site, ensuring on-call, weekend and holiday coverage is in an accordance.

19. Maintain and update data collection systems for contract reporting and special projects.

20. Responsible for compiling monthly reports and submissions to the Executive Director.

21. Perform other duties assigned by the Executive Director or Medical Director

Minimum Qualifications:


To qualify you must have a Masters or Bachelor's degree with 4 years of related administrative experience in Mental Health Services. A passion for children and families with mental health or juvenile justice issues. Experience in quality improvement/assurance, scheduling, data management, regulatory compliance. Excellent organizational skills combined with a flexible and professional demeanor and the ability to independently prioritize multiple responsibilities are essential. A high level of competence with both Microsoft Excel and Word are required.

Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
