BOOKEEPER / OFFICE MANAGER JOB DESCRIPTION
PART-TIME 20-25 HOURS PER WEEK, EXPANDING TO FULL TIME In office /Remote
Prodigy Athletics is a leading regional provider of athletic activities for youth and adults, including volleyball, pickleball, fitness training, dance, yoga, martial arts, and other activities. Prodigy is a rapidly growing company, and we provide a fun, optimistic, and positive work environment for our employees. We operate out of our 25,000 square foot facility, the Prodigy Athletic Center, in Somers, NY.
We are seeking a skilled bookkeeper to join our team. In this role, you’ll manage essential financial duties: [including but not limited to] processing daily uploads from integrated sales and banking platforms, recording financial transactions, managing expense reimbursements and processing payroll. This role collaborates regularly with the founding principals and managers. We’re looking for a team player who has a strong attention to detail and a commitment to supporting our mission. Job Responsibilities:
Processing daily uploads from integrated sales and banking platforms into the QuickBooks accounting system.
Record transactions and journal entries in accordance with GAAP to generate accurate, timely financial reporting
Managing expense reimbursements to principals and employees
Reconciling bank and credit card statements; reconcile credit card funds receivable
Maintain subsidiary accounts receivable and accounts payable ledgers
Prepare monthly and periodic financial reports
Utilize the appropriate accounting software to manage and automate financial tasks when relevant.
Interact with and support Company’s outside Financial and Tax consultants as necessary.
Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
Qualifications and Skills:
Strong knowledge of and experience with QuickBooks
Ability and desire to learn essential integrated software and platforms.
Capable of spotting and resolving discrepancies.
Experience with Excel, formulas, and data analysis tools including VLOOKUP and pivot tables.
A general understanding of accounting principles, e.g. accruals and revenue.
Strong attention to detail and level of accuracy.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Education and Requirements:
Associates/bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field; or commensurate business experience in bookkeeping/accounting.
Hourly rate commensurate with experience
