Will also provide support for all aspects of Environmental Health and Safety including radiation, chemical, and biological safety programs and operations; collect and report on compliance data; maintain inspection files and documentation; and assist in maintaining compliance with federal and state licenses and permits, safety rules, regulations, and guidelines. Position responsibilities are expected to include inspection and risk remediation in laboratories and other facilities governed by provisions of the Arms Export Control Act, the Export Administration Regulations, and/or by government grant terms and conditions imposing citizenship restrictions on project participants.Minimum RequirementsKnowledge equivalent to that which would normally be acquired by completing a four-year college degree; six months to one year of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in an environmental specialty related to the area of employment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Desired QualificationsOne to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in laboratory safety, safe experimental design and/or facility compliance inspector. A broad foundation in the physical or life sciences or engineering, the fundamentals of chemistry to understand research processes and materials, and their related health hazards. Professional knowledge of industrial hygiene concepts, principles and practices applicable to the performance of industrial hygiene inspections. Demonstrated experience in report writing, record keeping and interpretation of compliance standards; four-year college degree; six months to one year of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in an environmental specialty related to the area of employment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
