This role is integral to ensuring the alignment of technology initiatives with strategic objectives. The Senior IT Security Program Manager will be responsible for overseeing program deliverables, managing cross-departmental coordination, and ensuring that best practices in project execution and information security are followed. Candidates should possess a strong foundation in IT systems, project management methodologies, and a deep understanding of information security practices.Essential Duties and Responsibilities (but not limited to):
Lead and manage large-scale IT programs and projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and goals.
Develop and maintain detailed plans, timelines, and budgets, overseeing the successful delivery of program outcomes.
Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
Ensure compliance with security and regulatory requirements while integrating information security best practices throughout the program lifecycle.
Work closely with ITS and departments to ensure technology solutions meet organizational needs.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders to manage expectations and ensure program success.
Embed information security practices in all aspects of project planning and implementation.
Support the development and enforcement of security policies within IT programs.
Establish and maintain reporting standards, documentation, and performance benchmarks to continuously improve project management processes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (Master’s degree is preferred).
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in IT program and project management, with a focus on information security.
Strong understanding of project management methodologies (i.e., PMI, PRINCE2, and Agile).
Knowledge of risk management, compliance, and incident response.
Familiarity with security technologies (i.e., firewalls, encryption, authentication), cloud security, network security, and endpoint security.
Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and senior leadership.
Ability to lead teams, manage multiple projects, and influence without direct resource control.
Experience in higher education environments is a plus.
Professional certifications such as PMP, CISSP, or CISM are highly desired.
