Johns Hopkins Carey Business School is seeking an experienced, high energy and organized higher education professional for the role of Associate Director Flex MBA Programs. This position will play a pivotal role within the Flex MBA Programs & Advising team, supporting both the Flex MBA program and Flex-aligned dual MBA programs. Primary responsibilities include overseeing the management of all Flex-aligned dual MBA programs and acting as the primary liaison to partner schools. Additionally, the Associate Director will collaborate with the Senior Director of Academics to develop new Flex dual degree partnerships.Additionally, the Associate Director will work closely with the Senior Associate Director to strategize and implement initiatives for new student transition and retention within the Flex MBA and dual MBA programs. This position also involves supervising and providing guidance to the Student Retention Specialist and working closely with Carey Admissions to ensure a seamless transition from application to enrollment for new Flex MBA students. Additionally, the Associate Director will cooperate with the Associate Director of Flex Advising and the Flex MBA team on retention and academic progress efforts.The ideal candidate will demonstrate independent thinking, exceptional project management, and critical thinking skills. They must possess the ability to collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders, communicate clearly, prioritize tasks efficiently, maintain a high level of detail orientation, and approach assignments proactively.The position will be a hybrid role, but primarily located at the Harbor East campus with some required travel to the Bloomberg Center in Washington D.C. Evening and weekend work will sometimes be required to accommodate program needs.Specific Duties & ResponsibilitiesAcademic Program Management
Serve as the primary program manager for all dual degree programs aligned with the Flex MBA.
Assist in the planning and implementation of new Flex MBA aligned dual degree programs.
Develop and disseminate program plans for each Flex-aligned dual degree program.
Develop and maintain planning templates in Stellic (degree management system) for Flex MBA aligned dual degree programs.
Serve as the primary contact for internal and external dual degree partners on all program and student matters.
Establish and maintain regular communication with representatives from all partner schools.
Facilitate yearly review and assessment of all Flex MBA dual degree programs.
Ensure that all Flex MBA dual-degree policies and procedures are up to date; work with partner schools on implementing any changes.
Collaborate with Carey Marketing & Communications team to maintain/update marketing and website materials for all Flex-aligned dual MBA programs.
Update advisors and Admissions staff who work with dual degree programs as needed.
Attend monthly Flex MBA Stakeholder meetings; provide updates regarding dual degree programs.
Work to ensure the experience of dual degree students is excellent, particularly with regard to their Carey coursework, student service, and co-curricular opportunities
Manage the budgets for any Flex-aligned dual MBA programs, including oversight of dual program-specific gifts.
Student Transition and Retention
Supervise the Student Retention Specialist, overseeing efforts to create a seamless transition of new Flex MBA, dual MBA, and part-time students from Admissions to Advising.
Collaborate with Assoc. Directors of Flex and MS Advising to ensure accurate advisor assignments of all part-time students, equitable advising caseloads, and dual MBA advising assignments consistent with institutional and team goals.
Evaluate and update retention initiatives, with a particular focus on the retention of dual MBA students.
Collaborate with Assoc. Dir. of Flex Advising to continuously improve retention of Flex MBA students.
Update annual schedule of onboarding and retention processes as needed; oversee implementation of these processes by the Student Retention Specialist.
Develop and implement new retention initiatives as needed.
Programming and Events
Share hosting/emcee duties for existing residencies, both in-person and virtual.
Provide program representation at and support for academic and social events, such as events for new part-time students, accelerated courses, semester kick-off events, local networking happy hours, etc.
Work collaboratively with Assistant Director of Residencies & Student Events to create, maintain and improve residency opportunities for dual-degree students. This includes, but is not limited to, two residencies per year for MA/MBA Design Leadership students and collaborative events for Nursing dual students in town for School of Nursing immersive experiences.
Build and maintain virtual networking groups for online students, focusing on academic and professional affinity groups, as well as groups by start term.
Other duties as assigned
Assist with “all hands-on deck” university-wide events such as commencement and various orientations, etc.
Serve on special-interest committees or work groups to represent the department.

Minimum Qualifications
Master’s Degree is required, preferably in student affairs, higher education, counseling, or related fields.
Three years of relevant advising experience required.
Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with academic partnerships.
Experience with student programming and/or event management.
Business school experience.
Knowledge of Learning Management Systems, such as Blackboard or Canvas.
