(https://advancement.georgetown.edu/) The Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) oversees all revenue operations, for the Office of Advancement (OA) – Georgetown University. The CRO directs OA Finance, Gift Administration, Donor Agreements, Records, GU360, Data & Analytics, and Prospect Management, and is responsible for leading these teams under a centrally aligned vision into a best-in-class revenue operations model capable of meeting the needs of a development program capable of generating in excess of $400 million in new commitments annually in FY 2027 and after. This work is subject to the supervision of, but will be largely delegated in full from, the Vice President of Advancement and Board of Directors. The CRO partners with University Finance, the Office of General Counsel, and Compliance to ensure that OA practices and policies are aligned with those of the University. In addition, the CRO is responsible for overseeing the daily operations associated with Advancement’s revenue production and ensuring that OA, in itself and in its collaboration with other university offices and functions, is organized and optimized to support current and future annual revenue goals. This position oversees the work of 38 full time staff across the areas of DATA, Donor Agreements, and the Office of Institutional Partnerships.The CRO will work with the Chief Data Officer and AVP for Advancement Services to manage the University’s pipeline of donors and set goals ensure a successful annual fundraising performance. The CRO will manage and partner with the Assistant VP for Financial Planning and ensure gift compliance. Additionally, the CRO will collaborate with the Office of the Provost, Office of General Counsel, and Finance to ensure gift compliance across the University. Serving as a partner and senior adviser to the VP for Advancement, the CRO will collaborate with the VP to communicate the status and success of the Board of Directors’ financial investment in the Office of Advancement and provide thought partnership in decisions related to campaign priorities.Duties include but are not limited to:

Revenue Management and oversight of gift administration and gift accounting.

Oversight of Donor Agreements and the Office of Institutional Partnerships.

Financial Management.

Officer Leadership & Strategy.

Team Leadership and Staff Management.

Work InteractionsThe CRO will partner with University and advancement leadership including the Vice President of Advancement, the University’s Chief Financial Officer, the University’s Chief Operating Officer, the University’s Executive Vice Presidents, and the Board of Directors. The CRO is responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining industry-best-practice standard processes for planning donor solicitations, reviewing, managing, and tracking donor solicitation strategies, and forecasting and regularly (not less than monthly) refining forecasts of annual revenue. Success in that critical undertaking requires ongoing collaboration and liaison with the executive and line managers of the frontline development team. The CRO also partners with senior leaders in Advancement to ensure progress against campaign goals and priorities and provides thought partnership in resolving any challenges. This position reports to the Vice President for Advancement and serves on OA’s Executive leadership team. Positions that report directly to the CRO are: Chief Data Officer and Assistant VP for Advancement Operations, Assistant Vice President, Donor Agreement and the Senior Director of Development, Institutional Partnerships. The CRO oversees the work of 38 full time staff across the areas of DATA, Donor Agreements, and the Office of Institutional Partnerships.Requirements and Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree; MBA or similar master’s degree preferred

10-20 years of progressive work experience in higher education or a private sector equivalent

Experience in both frontline fundraising and in organizational operations and management

Track record of successfully managing operations in a complex organization

Ability to coordinate the work of fundraising with the University’s academic operation and financial priorities

Skilled manager and leader able to build and guide complex and functionally diverse teams

Expertise in communications, change management, and fundraising matrixes
