Director, Strategy & Planning - Sales Revenue | Remote, USA
District of Columbia, Washington, 20001 Washington USAThis position will be fully remote and can be hired anywhere in the continental U.S.The Director of Strategy & Planning role is responsible for leading scalability and efficiency initiatives for Optiv’s Revenue organization, ensuring we are structuring the sales organization to support rapid growth and drive increased client materiality.This person will own designing the 1-3 year roadmap for sales along with projects and milestones to identify and drive growth opportunities. They will translate business problems into structured projects that they will lead in end-to-end delivery from hypothesis development to final conclusions. They will then act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders by fostering engagement and translating strategic recommendations into execution-oriented outcomes.How you’ll make an impact
Business Development - Partner with Segment Leads to develop an active inorganic pipeline, aligned to the division’s strategic plan. Assist in the development and launch of the SMB sales motion, business cases, and structure
Build a 1-3 year sales roadmap and framework based on fact-based analyses of internal metrics and industry expectations to enable rapid growth and drive long-term strategic priorities
Hire, lead, manage, and develop a high performing team
Design sales segmentation plan with established ROI projections with milestones over a 1-3 year period
Identify sales coverage models by segments with detailed workflow, customer experience and internal SLAs and expectations
Develop sales ramp and productivity plan to drive territory coverage and hiring plans
Work cross-functionally to remove barriers that prevent realization of the sales strategy
Lead all revenue organization strategic planning activities, headcount and capacity planning, strategy around account scoring, segmentation and budget allocation
Utilize data analytics and insights to measure the impact of transformation initiatives
Lead pivotal initiatives and collaborate on efforts to translate strategy into execution
Implement and facilitate strategic business processes and practices that champion alignment and efficiency and enable decision making and/or action
Coordinate with other key support functions (e.g., HR, Finance, Marketing) to ensure a holistic approach to strategy and execution
Author compelling materials to effectively explain our strategy and present persuasively to drive the business to action Create and develop materials to communicate strategy and business updates to the Board, Executive Committee, Sales Leaders and other stakeholders
Support broader planning and business management responsibilities of the Revenue Transformation Team during critical times, as needed
Utilize change management strategies to facilitate organizational transformation
What we’re looking for
Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university (a combination of education and demonstrated experience in the industry may be considered), with a related Master’s degree preferred
12+ years of related sales revenue strategy experience
10+ years of experience leading high-profile cross-functional projects
5+ years of proven track record in management consulting or strategy roles ideally in the Tech industry
Proven leadership skills and experience with both direct and indirect reports as well as influencing without authority
Executive Communication/Presentation Skills
Advanced Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel skills and ability to perform data analysis
Experience working with executive committee members and leading/managing high-performing, strategically minded teams
History of leading and managing teams to solve high-impact problems and develop actionable, complete solutions for the most challenging issues
