Director of Public Sector Operations
District of Columbia, Washington, 20001 Washington USASeeking an experienced and visionary Director of Public Sector Operations to lead operational strategies and ensure the seamless functioning of our diverse team spread across various locations throughout the United States. As part of the leadership team, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing efficiency, enhancing collaboration, and driving growth within our dynamic virtual environment, partnering closely with all internal and external teams. Location: The selected candidate will work remotely and primarily during core Eastern Time (ET) business hours. Key Responsibilities: Operational Strategy: Develop and implement comprehensive operational strategies that align with the company's goals, focusing on scalability, client satisfaction, and employee engagement. Project Management: Leveraging deep understanding of federal contracts management, provide high-level project oversight related to resource planning and utilization, performance management, quality control, budget monitoring and ensuring delivery excellence. Reporting & Monitoring: Prepare utilization and burn rate reports every pay period and month, providing detailed insights to Project Managers, and Delivery teams. Closely monitor general and administrative (G&A) rates, firm fixed price (FFP) and time-and-materials staffing, and resource optimization. Tools & Technology: Provide guidance on software and tools that can improve operational efficiency. Evaluate and implement technology solutions that enhance remote collaboration, project management, and communication. Proposals & Growth: Actively participate in capture management, business development and proposal writing support, building partnerships and identifying new opportunities. Internal Leadership: Act as advisor to executives providing industry best practices and market data to inform business decisions and strategies. S upport and advise culture building activities, employee-led committees, website updates and other corporate marketing initiatives. Process Improvement: Identify areas for process optimization and automation, streamlining workflows to enhance efficiency and productivity. Performance Metrics: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of operational initiatives and drive continuous improvement. Recruiting + HR: Ensure effective resource utilization across the organization and collaborate on recruitment efforts (sourcing, screening, etc.), as well as onboarding and offboarding logistics, new hire paperwork, clearance processing, and orientation.Partner on benefits and benefits renewal such as medical, dental, vision, PTO, and more. Play an active role in performance management and staff learning and development initiatives. Financial Management + Reporting: In tandem with executives, manage relationships and terms with external vendors, negotiating contracts and ensuring service quality aligns with company standards while providing cost-effective solutions. Establish and maintain relationships with vendors, suppliers, and partners to support business operations. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business administration
A minimum of 6 years of relevant public sector (federal) professional experience – operations, human resources, financial and/or project management.
Proven leadership skills and abilities
Strong understanding of virtual collaboration tools, project management software, and remote work best practices.
Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and guide cross-functional teams.
Strategic mindset, with the ability to align operational strategies with overall business objectives.
Analytical skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making and problem-solving.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to foster clear and effective remote communication.
Experience in process optimization and change management to drive operational excellence.
Budget management experience and financial acumen.
Adaptability and resilience, given the dynamic nature of virtual work environments.
