Help Wanted - Direct Support Professional (PT)

I'm a partially disabled artist who needs help with cooking, light housekeeping, errands, and cat petting. No heavy lifting.

$21/hour to start. I request at least a 3 to 4-hour-a-week commitment. I also pay FICA, FUTA, SUTA, and worker’s comp. I don’t pay cash.

I'm a longtime multimedia artist and mystic, and I was previously a physicist. I have limited mobility and reach. I'm gluten-free, vegan, and walk with a cane. I have allergies to smoke and scented products. I live in north Boulder in a sunny, non-toxic apartment with my cat, maidenhair ferns, art supplies, and finished projects on the walls. I value a positive, upbeat attitude and reliability. Cooking and cleaning are important yet undervalued skills in this culture, and for me they are essential, so I’m appreciative and respectful of my caregivers. I love to laugh, and it can get quite whimsical around here.

I need assistance from an organized, neat, hygienic, fragrance-free, and pleasant non-smoker who knows how to cook healthy foods according to my recipes. You should also have a car or use the bus to shop for me occasionally. You must be able to pass a background check. This may not be the most glamorous of jobs, but you get to make a real difference in someone’s life which makes the world a better place and that’s rewarding.
