Software Engineer

Scale AI, Inc. in San Francisco, CA seeks a Software Engineer.

Responsibilities: Responsible for building systems and products to accelerate the development and deployment of software product models built by Scale’s Software Engineering team. Specific duties include: develop scalable infrastructure to manage machine learning workloads; build elastic data pipelines that process billions of events per day; work with Research Team to automate aspects of Scale’s pipeline and deploy research models in production; collaborate with Infrastructure Team to build core abstractions and create standards and best practices for building systems; analyze and process large data sets needed for developing software models; establish and document engineering protocols for software engineering best practices to ensure efficiency, quality, and scalability throughout development; other duties as assigned. Salary range $216K - $240K. Employee may be stationed anywhere in the continental U.S., but will report to headquarters in San Francisco, CA.

Education: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or related field (or foreign equivalent).

Requirements: 2 years of experience in the job offered or related position; 2 years of experience working with Python, Java, or similar languages; 2 years of experience working with data manipulation tools such as Pandas, Spark, SQL, or similar; 2 years of experience working with frontend frameworks such as React or similar; and 2 years of experience working with backend frameworks such as PHP, C or similar.

In lieu of a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or related field (or foreign equivalent) and 2 years of experience in the job offered or related position, employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or related field (or foreign equivalent) and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related position.
