Legal Secretary
California, San francisco bay area 00000 San francisco bay area USASole practitioner with general law practice seeks a Legal Secretary / Legal Administrator with significant legal experience. This position is expected to provide strong legal and administrative office assistance. This position is in Burlingame, CA and not remote.
Duties & Responsibilities
Electronically file documents with California Superior Courts, California Court of Appeal, and administrative agencies
Proofreading correspondence and pleadings
Maintain electronic calendar
Calendar court deadlines
Schedule inter-office conference calls and meetings, as well as with clients and opposing counsel
Regularly anticipate the needs of attorneys in order to promote timekeeper efficiencies (i.e., draft correspondence and pleading document shells, prepare materials for meetings in advance)
Routinely review and follow-up on upcoming deadlines appointments
Consistently and professionally communicate with sophisticated clients, opposing counsel, vendors, and firm personnel
Assist with client billing and other varied administrative tasks involving firm management and operations
Organize physical files and assist with document management
Skills & Qualifications
Experience as a legal secretary working in a law office or other business office is preferred
Bachelor’s degree preferred, but a High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent with commensurate years of experience in the field is acceptable
Strong computer proficiency in working with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, time entry, eFiling, and cloud-based Case Management System database (CMS)
Possess a professional interest in merging litigation administrative skills with office management/operations duties and skills

Monday to Thursday, 10 am - 5 pm
