Responsibilities and Duties
Responsibilities
Supervise the physical construction of the assigned project in strict accordance with contract documents
Verify that all trades are safety compliant
Maintain and plan reports, work-arounds, shutdowns, and tie-ins
Resolve jurisdictional disputes; enforce safety and quality-control policies
Direct and coordinate the day-to-day of trade contractors and their sub-contractors, when required to ensure that they turn out high-quality work that meets the approved project schedule
Maintain satisfactory relationships with owners, subcontractors, unions, etc.
Manage day-to-day field activities to ensure that the project milestone dates and overall schedule completion date is met
Create short-interval look-ahead project schedules to ensure that upcoming events are communicated, tracked, and are being proactively attended to
Create and maintain a culture that values safety, health, and cleanliness
Manage and coordinate the work to ensure that it is constructed in an orderly and deliberate manner consistent with the standard-of-care set forth in the contract documents
Establish and maintain all dimensional controls for the project to include the use of third-party surveys and layout personnel, when appropriate
Verify that all work is installed in a workmanlike manner (i.e. plumb, level, straight, etc.)
Manage and look-ahead no less than two weeks to proactively identify issues that could lead to problems and provide solutions for them
Obtain all inspections and ensure that the quality aspects of the physical work are fully documented
Ensure all aspects of the project are compliant with all contract terms and legal requirements that govern the project and the community in which the project(s) take(s) place
Administer client specific programs such as CQC, Safety, Environmental Stewardship, etc.
Conduct and/or attend pre-construction, progress, and other project and staff meetings
Conduct and/or participate in regularly held meetings involving TMG internal staff and external stake holders such as owners, subcontractors, etc.
Meet with client representatives on a regular basis to discuss the status of projects, proactively identify and resolve problems, and assure that the client is kept aware of all aspects of the project
Manage self-performed activities to ensure that work is being performed within the established project budget
Manage changes in the project scope to ensure that the most contemporary contract documents are always being used to prevent avoidable rework
Administer contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, and other agreements to ensure that the scope, terms, and conditions are being met consistently and proactively
Manage the punch list and project closeout processes to assure timely completion
Maintain daily paperwork such as timecards, field reports, schedule updates, and e-mail correspondence
Provide timely and cordial interactions with supporting work groups such as accounting, HR, ICS, etc.
Direct and manage the work loads of supporting staff to include training, mentoring, and follow-ups
Participate in and encourage staff to seek out life-long learning opportunities and professional development
Complete other responsibilities as directed
