A dynamic, expanding Personal Injury Litigation and Trial Law Firm seeks a seasoned, well-rounded Paralegal to provide both pre-litigation and litigation support in a fast-paced, trial-focused environment. The entire practice specializes in representing Personal Injury Plaintiffs at trial and/or during arbitration, and takes cases from all over California. To qualify for this position, you must have 5-7 years’ strong experience in Civil Litigation, an innate grasp of Personal Injury cases, and at least 2-3 years’ Case Management experience on the Plaintiff’s side. A paralegal certificate is preferable, but not required if your experience and work ethic match our high standards.

The candidate must be familiar with and excel at performing the following routine functions:

communicating with clients and potential clients;

preparing medical records requests, HIPAA authorizations, letters to insurance carriers, arbitration demands, medical summaries, and billing reports;

obtaining facts and information from clients, witnesses, opposing parties, insurance carriers, and all manner of third parties;

applying knowledge of the Code of Civil Procedure, Rules of Court, and local court rules to overall case management;

retaining, informing, and preparing expert witnesses and client’s medical providers for deposition and trial testimony;

maintaining a law firm calendar and recording all important hearing and cutoff dates;

preparing written discovery responses, including but not limited to obtaining documents and information from client, and finalizing for service on opposing law offices;

maintaining, organizing, and memorializing firm costs after trial.

The ideal candidate will be an expert at using Microsoft 365 in a completely remote setting (Word, Outlook, Excel, OneNote, PowerPoint). Implicit knowledge of cloud-based case management programs is a must – prior use of FileVine is a plus. The candidate must know how to manage a litigation calendar as well as ‘soft deadlines’ related to pre-litigation matters, in-house calendar items, arbitrations, and mediations.

This is an easy-going, fun, yet professional and fast-paced office, and should provide a challenge to a candidate who is not just looking to take orders but rather be a proactive member of a hard-working team. If you are driven, motivated, and looking to make an impact, this is the place for you. For those interested, please be sure to put “PI Paralegal” in your message subject, and include your references and salary history in your submission.

We are looking forward to hearing from you!
