After School Care Assistant

Redwood Coast Montessori is looking for an outgoing, enthusiastic, and positive After School Care Assistant for the 2024-25 school year. The role of the After School Care Assistant is assisting in the supervision of after school care students; providing age appropriate activities; and assisting the After School Care Director as may be required.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $17.09 per hour

Expected hours: 12 – 20 per week

Schedule: After school, Monday to Friday

Essential Functions:

Assist students to navigate daily social interaction.

Assist students in peaceful conflict resolution.

Daily cleaning of work areas for the purpose of maintaining an orderly environment. Including, but not limited to, sweeping floors, washing dishes, cleaning lunch tables, and taking out garbage.

Demonstrate leadership, communication skills, and reliability.

Ability to teach caring behaviors: altruism and empathy.

Ability to respond courteously and knowledgeably to the needs of all constituents.

Ability to maintain a professional atmosphere in a fast-paced, loud environment with numerous interactions and interruptions.

High degree of initiative, self-motivation and ability to lead various activities.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent

Reliable transportation to and from the work site

Demonstrates general knowledge of child development and growth

Demonstrated commitment and/or experience promoting and fostering a working environment that is supportive of individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Demonstrates effective writing and verbal communication skills including ability to participate in group discussions and problem solve.

Requirements upon being hired:

Fingerprinted and DOJ clearance,

Negative TB test

Must attend and pass adult and child First Aid/CPR
