Responsibilities This temporary. Not-to-Exceed (NTE) Construction and Maintenance Foreman Supervisor appointment is located at the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center, Milwaukee, Wisconsin in the Facility Management Divisions (FMD), Architectural Unit. Major Duties: -Plans, lays out, assigns, and coordinates work for the Architectural Team. -Establishes priorities and deadlines based on general work schedules, methods, polices, and code requirements. -Participates in final inspections of all new minor improvement projects. -Reviews work operations and inspects completed work. -Oversees attendance and leave, including scheduling and approving sick/annual leave. -Implements human resources management program requirements. -Directs on the job training of employees. -Works with Union Stewards on matters involving personnel actions. -Develops, implements, and/or modifies methods and procedures. -Reviews and inspects contract documents. -Responsible for the effective and economical use of allocated resources. Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday 6 AM-2:30 PM and may be required to be present to provide off-hours support for utility outages, maintenance and projects support, etc. Alternate work schedules are not available for this position. NOTE: Candidate may be required to complete a one-year supervisory probationary period. Qualifications To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 09/11/2024. EXPERIENCE: A specific length of training and experience is not required, but you must show evidence of training or experience of sufficient scope and quality of your ability to do the work of this position. Evidence which demonstrates you possess the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of this position must be supported by detailed descriptions of such on your resume. Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Federal Wage System Qualification Standards. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
