As an employee/owner at MEC, you will manage the inflow of purchased materials and services from MEC's suppliers to ensure the reliable supply of needed materials and services. Locates, selects and acts to continuously improve the performance of suppliers so that MEC's supplier base as a whole is an ever greater asset to MEC's profitability and growth. This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as deemed necessary.Reviews requisitions. Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedules. Utilizes talents to do value analysis.

Monitors the performance of all assigned suppliers.

Selects products for purchase by testing, observing, or examining items.

Estimates values according to knowledge of market price.

Determines method of procurement such as direct purchase or bid.

Prepares purchase orders or bid requests.

Reviews bid proposals and negotiates contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.

Maintains procurement records such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories.

Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action.

Approves invoices for payment.

Expedites delivery of goods to users.

CPM certification is a plus.LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to properly compose reports, business correspondence, and work instructions, procedure manuals and training aids. Ability to effectively instruct others, present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public, both in large group and individual settings. Ability to communicate complicated information in a concise, orderly fashion. REASONING ABILITYAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
