Product Safety Engineer Apply now » Date: Dec 18, 2024 Location: Madison, IN, US, 47250 Company: Dorman Products Job Summary At SuperATV we are working to WOW our customers with innovative, race-tested products and world class customer service. Currently, we have an opportunity for a highly skilled and detail oriented Product Safety Engineer to add to our team. This critical role will help continue SuperATV’s growth and impact in the off-roading industry. Primary Duties

Conduct research and tests to evaluate product safety.

Isolate potential safety hazards.

Investigate accidents and injuries related to product and issue recalls if necessary.

Construct precautionary instructions on label.

Reviews manufacturing process of product.

Analyze chemical features to ensure nothing is hazardous.

Develop and conduct testing methods.

Evaluate risk of fires or physical harm.

Develop safety procedures when handling product.

Anticipate, recognize, and evaluate safety hazards.

Achieve safety compliance across multiple product lines and programs.

Determine regulatory/certification/compliance issues and/or identify foreseeable misuses.

Review and approve or modify changes to products.

Conduct root cause analysis and implement due diligence actions to resolve customer issues.

Maintain proficiency of worldwide safety regulations through research, development of network, and ongoing education.

Reduce liability concerns and actions.

Qualifications

Understanding of automotive aftermarket product lifecycle.

Project management experience a plus.

Ability to respond to and meet critical deadlines.

Experience in the creation and use of spreadsheets, databases and presentations.

Familiarity with CAD modeling software is beneficial.

Effective communication skills to convey key concepts/strategies across organization groups.

Ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority.

Ability to assess decision drivers, critical paths to market, and strategic product positioning.

Education / Experience

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required.

7+ years of work experience in product design engineering.

5+ years of experience in automotive, a strong understanding of the ATV and UTV markets.
