Job Description
- Demonstrates and promotes the company vision
- Regular attendance and punctuality
- Applies GMP/GLP in all areas of responsibility, as appropriate
- Support compliance of ISO/IEC 17025:2005
- May be required to assume responsibilities of Business Unit Manager in the absence of the Business Unit manager Head.
- Assists with performance evaluations, staffing decisions and other supervisory activities for the assigned functional groups.
- Reviews and approves work performed in EFII for scientific validity and compliance with EFII SOPs.
- Complete understanding of EFII SOPs as they apply to food testing services.
- Provides technical guidance to the employees of EFII.
- Provides management direction to designated groups.
- Assists in planning, marketing and project activities for assigned group.
- Trains and mentors staff across EFII
- Works with the EFII commercial and Technical Development teams to expand EFII to new clients and to develop new services.
- Establishes client contacts for specific service or market segments.
- Works with clients to design method development projects, method validations and testing programs that will meet client requirements.
- Prepares protocols, reports, and other documents associated with EFII.
- Interprets and implements policies affecting staff, fiscal and technical management of designated groups.
- Discusses study problems or scope changes with appropriate personnel and suggests solutions and actions to solve problems. Manages the impact on time and cost.
- Works with Human Resources to implement appropriate affirmative action, salary administration, and communication programs within the department.
- Participates in client visits to EFII.
- May have the additional responsibility of Managing Quality Systems.
- Conducts all activities in a safe and efficient manner
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- BS degree plus 6-8 years of experience. Experience may be substituted for education.
- Experience in the techniques of food, supplement, and ingredient analysis and/or microbiology.
- Familiar with industry standards, such as AOAC, USP, ISO 17025, etc.
- Experience with GLPs and cGMPs (for Dietary Supplements or Medicated Feeds)
- Skilled in performing presentations, leading meetings, time management, and planning.
- Minimum of 3 years management experience or supervising teams
