Job Title: Senior Software Engineer (C / VxWorks)Location: Dahlgren, VA (Zip: 22448) | Work Arrangement: Hybrid (Full-Time / Permanent)Compensation: $150,000 – $200,000 Base Salary (Competitive Market Range + Full Corporate Benefits) Key ResponsibilitiesSoftware Development: Design, write, and maintain efficient C code for safety-critical missile and weapon system applications.Real-Time Systems: Develop and support applications running on VxWorks real-time operating systems (RTOS).Integration & Testing: Perform hardware-software integration for missile simulators and test equipment; lead verification and validation (V&V) activities.Collaboration: Work within multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure compliance with stringent defense and safety requirements.Technical Artifacts: Maintain rigorous technical documentation and software development artifacts throughout the project lifecycle. Required QualificationsEducation: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.Technical Skills: Extensive software development experience using C and VxWorks RTOS.Embedded Knowledge: Understanding of real-time embedded principles, SMP (Symmetric Multi-Processing), and multi-core architectures.Security Clearance: Active DoD Secret Security Clearance is mandatory.Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship is strictly required. Preferred QualificationsExperience with Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) or Anti-Air Warfare (AAW) systems.Familiarity with missile flight test programs, telemetry formats, and weapon system test equipment.Previous experience in Defense, Aerospace, or Naval systems programs. Kindly share resume at viraj(@)chabeztech.com
