Leavenworth Tasting Room Associates Wanted! (Leavenworth)

compensation: $17.75/hr plus tips

employment type: part-time - weekends/fill-in

job title: tasting room associate

Patterson Cellars winery is hiring part-time tasting room associates at our high volume, Leavenworth location on Front Street!

What we are about: a local, high volume winery with a focus on producing a wide range of highly rated, approachable, New World style wines from the Columbia River Valley and Walla Walla Valley AVAs (https://www.pattersoncellars.com) with 5 locations in Washington. We value our team members, treat each person with respect and empathy, and value our customers. We strive to provide the best possible tasting experience and service for our customers and club members. In addition to a wide range of local reds, whites, rosés, sparkling and dessert wines, frosè and mulled wine, we also offer a selection of local beers, ciders, non-alcoholic options, cheese and charcuterie plates and pairing experiences (such as our charcuterie or chocolate pairing experiences) - something to please everyone. We have outside and indoor seating.

Operating hours Fri-Sat 11-9 (with live music from 7-9 pm), and Sun-Thu 11-7.

What we are looking for: A team member for weekends and some weekdays, as well as covering vacation/sick time.

We operate with 3-4 staff members for the busiest shifts on Saturdays/holidays/festivals and 2-3 staff members on Fridays and Sundays. Generally weekdays are sufficiently staffed with only one person on shift with the exception of the month of December when we will have 2 people staffed on weekdays. Preference is for someone who loves to learn, with a wine industry/customer service background. But, wine and service industry experience is NOT required. We can train the right candidate who is eager to learn about wine, break into the wine industry, works well with others, is honest, reliable, and a good communicator, and provides great customer service. If you have service industry experience, but have never worked in a winery, don't be intimidated to try something new, tasting rooms tend to be much less stressful than serving in restaurants and bars, but the work comes with similarly high tipped wages.

What the position is like: Fun! You get to learn about wine and share that knowledge and experience with others.

Pay: base pay is $17.75/hour; but tipped wages range from $23/hour on the slowest day of the year to $40/hour+ on the busiest days. We are needing the most help on the weekends, holidays and especially festival weekends, when volume and tips are highest.

Benefits: We pay for your additional wine training/education after working with us for 6 months, 1 free bottle of wine of your choosing on pay day, plus the spring and fall wine club release wines when they come out (because you have to know what you're serving/selling), 50% employee discount on wine everyday, and industry discounts at other wineries. We offer paid medical, dental, and vision for employees working consistently 30+ hours per week. We offer half-paid benefits for employees working 20-29 hours per week.

Contact our tasting room manager, Taylor Cole, by replying to this email with your attached resume or feel free to stop in and drop off a resume in person during business hours. Taylor is not in the tasting room on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
