Land Survey Technician

NCW Land Surveying, LLC is seeking a motivated, experienced Land Survey Technician who is familiar with topography, boundary, cadastral, and ALTA surveys as well as construction staking, elevation certificates, and platting. The successful candidate will be accountable for collecting data, performing field calculations, and ensuring accuracy of all measurements in accordance with established standards. This position will be in the field 70% of the time while 30% in the office.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Ability to manage day-to-day project assignments both in the field and the office.
Operate/maintain survey equipment.
Produce plans, maps, files as necessary.
Research, review, and prepare correspondence and reports as necessary.
Compile field notes.
Completely inspect and check deliverables for accuracy and correctness.
Ensure all safety protocols are followed.
Assist in project proposal preparation.
Communicate with co-workers and staff.
Represent the company effectively in client relations.
Qualifications:
4 years of field experience (preferred) in boundary and construction surveying.
Strong understanding of surveying principles.
Proficient in GPS, electronic data collection, and land surveying techniques.
Ability to work with Carlson/AutoCAD software.
Proficient with the operation and maintenance of Leica GPS, total stations,
electronic levels, and other measuring instruments.
Must be able to carry up to 50lbs while hiking rugged terrain (at times).
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently as 90% of the field work is a one-man crew.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Must have a valid driver.
