Overview
A Cabinet Maker/Finisher sets up and operates professional grade finishing equipment and spray booth to finish casework. They also operate a variety of woodworking machines and use various hand tools to fabricate wood and Plywood cabinets and high-grade furniture using sustainable materials and environmental sensitive supplies.
Essential Job Functions:
Spray finish cabinets, draw boxes, shelves, furniture. etc.
Cut, shape, mill, and assemble wood and Plywood articles. Set up and operate a variety of woodworking machines, such as power saws, jointers, and mortisers to surface, cut or shape lumber and to fabricate parts for wood products.
Verify dimensions or check the quality or fit of pieces to ensure adherence to specifications.
Measure and mark dimensions of parts on paper or lumber stock prior to cutting, following shop drawings, to ensure a tight fit and quality product.
Attach parts or subassemblies together to form completed units, using glue, biscuits, dominoes, nails, screws, or clamps.
Match materials for color, grains, or textures, giving attention to knots or other features of the wood.
Trim, sand, or scrape surface or joints to prepare articles for finishing.
Bore holes for insertion of screws or biscuits, by hand or using boring machines.
Load product for delivery and deliver.
Job Requirements:
A strong candidate for this position is someone who has at least two years’ experience in the woodworking, professional finishing and/or casework/cabinetmaking.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Punctuality. Arrive to work 5 minutes prior to the start time every day.
Prolonged periods of standing, moving to station to station, loading, and bending.
May lift up to 80 lbs. and/or move up to 80 lbs.
Maintenance and cleaning of the facility, it's surroundings and vehicles.
Design - Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, shop drawings, and models.
