Journeyman Assembler
Washington, Seattle-tacoma, 98101 Seattle-tacoma USAMadden Industrial Craftsmen, a leading staffing firm, is actively seeking a skilled Journeyman Assembler for a direct hire opportunity with one of our esteemed clients in Seattle, WA. Our client is a renowned manufacturing company specializing in the production of custom build-to-order high-end deck equipment for the marine work boat and oceanographic industries.
Pay Rate: $34-$36 per hour
Schedule: Monday to Thursday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
Direct Hire Position
Responsibilities:
Prepare work for assembly by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and part lists; gather parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
Assemble components by examining connections for correct fit, fastening parts and subassemblies.
Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies judiciously to achieve job results.
Document actions by completing production and quality forms.
Operate milling machines, lathes, and drill presses.
Instruct and assist lower-classified team members in various aspects of the trade.
Exhibit strong team player skills by sharing knowledge and expertise with team members, providing practical guidance on executing complex tasks, and offering clear directions for independent task execution in the future.
Travel inside and outside the United States for offsite work.
Must have a passport and be eligible for a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
Must be able to pass the background check and drug screen.
Experience:
5-8 years of related experience as an Assembly Mechanic, with a strong background in working with gearboxes recommended.
Computer Skills: Proficient in Outlook, Word, and Excel for effective communication with coworkers and customers
Knowledge:
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Proficient math skills.
Extensive mechanical/machine shop experience.
Equipment Maintenance, Manufacturing Experience, Manufacturing Quality, Mechanical Inspection Tools, Tooling, Safety Management, Quality Focus, Power Tools, Judgment, Decision Making.
Forklift experience preferred.
Overhead Crane and Rigging experience highly preferred.
Physical Demands:

Work Environment:
Very loud (Shop).
Under 1/3 of the time, this employee will be working in high, precarious places.
1/3-2/3 of the time, this employee will be working in wet or humid conditions (non-weather), outdoor weather conditions, risk of electrical shock, and vibration.
Over 2/3 of the time, this employee will be working near moving mechanical parts, working around fumes or airborne particles, handling toxic or caustic chemicals, and experiencing extreme cold (non-weather) and extreme heat (non-weather).
