CONTRACT IMMIGRATION PARALEGAL (BILINGUAL)
Washington, Seattle-tacoma, 98101 Seattle-tacoma USAThe Immigration Department of a Seattle based law firm, is seeking a punctual and dependable Immigration Legal Assistant/Paralegal in King County, Washington.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist attorney in drafting USCIS applications, petitions and correspondences;
Manage attorney calendars (tickler) and the scheduling appointments and confirmation of court hearings;
Communicate with court, prospective and existing clients in a professional and courteous manner;
Generating, proofreading and editing documents;
Filing immigration forms online or via mail, along with supporting evidence packets;
Filing motions and briefs with Immigration Court, and other related courts as applicable;
Performing administrative tasks including scanning, shredding, filing, answering phones.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A minimum of 5 years of experience in a legal setting;
Strong computer skills / typing ability (Word, Outlook, Power Point Excel, Adobe);
Experience in immigration law;
Impeccable organizational and planning skills;
Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision under time constraints/deadlines;
Strong written and oral communication skills; and
Excellent phone skills and comfortable handling a multi-line telephone system.
PREFERRED NOT REQUIRED:
Spanish, Pashto/Farsi, Mandarin Chinese, and/or Arabic languages;
Familiarity with Clio office database, SharePoint or other legal databases;
Experience in managing caseloads; and
Experience in family/employment immigration and EB-5, and/or deportation proceeding.
REMUNERATION:
Position: Contract/Hourly 20-40 hours per week.
Hourly: $25.00 to $30.00 per hour, depending on experience.
Probationary Period: 3 months.
