Part-time Pantry - Prep Cook

Basilico Ristorante is seeking a part-time Prep and Pantry Cook in Olympia, approximately 20 hours/week, including some prep time. During the dinner service, this person would be responsible for preparing salads, some appetizers, and dessert plates on the line. Friday and Saturday evenings are required; two other prep shifts will be scheduled in afternoons/early evenings.

Job Requirements:

-At least one year of experience in a kitchen, with preferably some experience in a scratch kitchen.

-Proven record of responsible employment and reliability.

-Curiosity, and a desire to learn.

-Strength in working within a team.

-Flexibility, and coolness under pressure.

Helpful, but not required:

-Experience baking bread, or making desserts

-Strong knife skills

-Experience on a line.

This position pays $16.28-18.00/hour DOE, as well as a share of the service charge on top of hourly wage. Basilico Ristorante pays out 50% more sick leave than required by the state. After one year of employment, kitchen employees start to earn vacation time.
