AWS Security Policies and Controls Specialist, Security Assurance & Compliance

The AWS Security Assurance & Compliance team is responsible for demonstrating the security controls of services offered by AWS. At AWS' scale, we invent new ways to provide the highest level of assurance to our most security conscious customers.We are looking for a highly motivated practitioner with IT audit and policy experience to join our team. As part of the team, you will be responsible for supporting our security policy and control function. You will understand the key objectives and goals of AWS policies and work with our internal security teams to document our security policies, standards, and procedures to ensure they fulfill AWS compliance obligations and align to our internal security controls. Additionally, you will be responsible for understanding AWS’ operational processes around controls and be able to clearly articulate and communicate to various stakeholder audiences in a variety of forms.The successful candidate is one who loves working across many stakeholders, understands compliance frameworks, and designs policies and controls that may meet complex compliance challenges. You will work directly with divisions within AWS service to improve AWS’ ability to demonstrate assurances for our internal and external customers through documentation.Key job responsibilitiesThis position will be responsible for the following activities: Understand regulatory and commercial IT requirements and serve as a subject-matter expert around AWS security controls Write, validate, and articulate policy documentation to include security policies, standards, and procedures. Review evidence and controls needed to illustrate policy operations and mechanisms. Communicate to key stakeholders the operational processes around AWS security practices, policies, and procedures. Communicate to leadership key risks and areas of program improvement, as well as seek diverse opinions and coordinate improvement efforts. Fielding and addressing requests related to AWS policies. Bridge communication with key stakeholders and AWS technical communities to articulate policy changes, validations, and implementations. When we feel supported in the workplace and at home, there’s nothing we can’t achieve.Basic Qualifications· Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Mathematics, Accounting/Auditing, or other related fields· 7+ years of experience in security, audits, customer trust, control assessments, and/or security controls.· 5+ years of experience assessing complex technical processesPreferred QualificationsExperience in third-party, Government, and/or internal audit examinations.· Demonstrates high judgement and risk decision making abilities.· Experience with understanding, implementing, and/or writing IT security policies· Have experience in performing technical and non-technical assessments and documentation of network, operating systems, application security, as well as auditing IT processes, including working knowledge of key controls across a number of industry best practicesAmazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. The base pay for this position ranges from $107,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $229,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
