Description:$1,000 Sign-on Bonus for eligible external candidates who meet all conditions for payment - this is in addition to the fantastic benefits and compensation package offered by Swedish that begin on your first day of employment.Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Security Officer to work in Security at Swedish Ballard in Seattle, WA. We currently have part-time and full-time opportunities with varying schedules/shifts available.Applicants that meet qualifications will receive a text with some additional questions from our Modern Hire system.At Swedish, we are passionate about healthcare for our caregivers. Full-time caregivers (0.75-1.0 FTE) who earn less than $60,000 per year will be offered the Swedish PPO Medical Plan with a $0 premium cost, including dependent coverage.The Security Officer I provides a safe and secure environment for the patients, visitors, staff and property of Swedish Medical Center/Swedish Edmonds. Due to the continuous public contact of the position the highest level of customer service skills is essential. Security Officers conduct random patrols of Swedish Medical Center/Swedish Edmond property, respond to and investigate security incidents, report safety hazards, and appropriately document actions and observations made during the shift.In this position you will:Remain observant and alert at all times.

Report all incidents and hazards appropriately in written reports and in passing information between shifts. Notify supervisor and/or lead of any significant incidents that might impact department or hospital operations as soon as possible. Complete required documentation in a timely manner.

Demonstrate the highest standard of calm and professional customer service and provide the highest degree of assistance in responding to the needs of patients, visitors and staff.

Work independently and resolve problems appropriately.

Think quickly and formulate an effective plan for dealing with unexpected situations. Is able to de-escalate potentially dangerous situations.

Qualifications:Required qualifications for this position include:Basic Security Officer Certification through International Association of Healthcare Security and required within 9 months of employment

Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers required within 30 days of hire from American Heart Association (AHA) or Military Training Network (MTN)

Successful completion of TASER© training and certification within 9 months of employment with annual re-certification

Customer service experience

Preferred qualifications for this position include:Associate's Degree or equivalent

Healthcare security experience
