Afterschool Childcare Position (Starts End of August)

A school located in the Greenwood neighborhood is looking for an afternoon caretaker who can work in a team monitoring children during their afternoon play. Candidates must enjoy working with young children and have experience with the management of multiple children at one time. Position starts at the end of August / beginning of September and lasts through the school year.

This is an hourly position, with no benefits. Work is ideally 5 days a week, but the schedule is negotiable. The position has a potential schedule of 12:00pm - 5:00pm (exact hours TBD).

Position Responsibilities:

● Create a secure and comfortable environment ● Encourage students to work together to resolve conflicts and problem-solve ● Effectively communicate and collaborate with co-workers, parents, and students ● Manage the children appropriately and follow the School's policies and procedures ● Keep an even tone with children at all times

Qualifications:

● Fluent in English. Knowledge of German a plus ● Experience in early childhood education a must. ● Background check required; Must have current US work authorization ● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills when interacting with adults and young students ● Ability to work independently with moderate amount of supervision ● Reliability and punctuality; maintain confidentiality ● CPR/First-Aid certified for children and adults ● Positive work attitude at all times

Working Conditions:

● Part time, afternoon hours, daily (M-F) or partial week ● Flexibility to stay a little longer for clean-up, as required, a plus. ●Must be willing to follow health and safety protocols
