We are looking for teachers, educators, health professionals, and anyone with a background and experience in first aid who approaches all their work with a growth mindset and can be dynamic, respectful, and adaptable while teaching various people.

This is a perfect gig for someone wanting side income with a variable schedule. May include weekends and evenings if desired.

Our general onboarding process is as follows:

- Submit a brief resume to info@bestcprseattle.com

- Complete a 15-30 minute phone or video interview with the Exec. Director.

- Attend a class taught by a Certified Instructor

- Practical: Shadow at least one class and assist the working instructor during the class

- Conduct one class under review.

Job Overview: Instructors lead, instruct, and monitor class participants in a small group of 3 – 25 students per class. We provide all the equipment, training videos, and guidelines for teaching best practices in CPR as well as professional quality classrooms.

Instructors Role:

- Engage participants in an approachable and well-informed manner

- Remain in regular communication with the home office to coordinate the dates and times you are available to teach.

- Maintain rosters and issue certification cards.

- Arrive at least 20 min before scheduled class time to prepare the room, and equipment, and welcome students.

- Use registration software to ensure that all class attendees are pre-registered for class and mark attendance.

- Ensure all equipment is cleaned and returned to its original location and that the classroom is well organized and cleaned after each class.

- Report any equipment and facility maintenance issues to management promptly.

Instructor Qualifications:

At least 6 months of teaching or leadership experience in an equivalent environment. (Does not have to be as a First Aid and CPR instructor.)

Other Qualifications:

- Willingness to secure additional instructor certifications with at least one other major nationally accredited organization (American Heart Association, American Red Cross, ASHI or equivalent. Any equivalency must be approved by the BESTCPRUSA management team. We will help guide you on receiving one of these certifications. (AHA preferred.)

- VERY strong interpersonal and communication skills

- Ability to teach and convey complex concepts of First Aid and CPR in an easily understandable fashion

- Willingness to learn and receive feedback

- Must be able to move, carry, and lift 50 pounds in weight

- Basic First Aid and CPR Certification

Instructor Compensation:

Fixed Rates per class taught:

Probational -$175

Certified -$200

Probation period 1 month.

Pay increase time frames: 6 months for the first adjustment, and eligible every 12 months with a performance review.

Other compensation:

Potential to earn additional income teaching corporate classes, local community classes, and classes for private families and other entities.

ALL instructors will be paid as independent contractors, not as an employee. An Independent Contractor Agreement must be signed. You will essentially be conducting your own small business while we provide the support you need to be highly successful. Great opportunity for a highly motivated person seeking additional income.
