JOB TITLE: ELECTRICAL DESIGNER LOCATION: RESTON, VIRGINIA (IN-OFFICE/ONSITE) ABOUT IPARAMETRICS & THE PROJECT Founded in 2003, iParametrics is a leader in providing innovative solutions in engineering, construction, emergency management, security, and data analytics for commercial and public sector clients. As a proud subcontractor for Bechtel, we are contributing to the landmark project of delivering Poland’s first AP1000 nuclear power reactors. In collaboration with Westinghouse Electric Company, Bechtel is the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractor for Polskie Elektrownie Jadrowe (PEJ), responsible for designing the Turbine Island, Balance of Plant, and constructing the entire facility. This project is a unique opportunity to expand Poland’s nuclear energy capacity and ensure a sustainable energy future. This position is full-time, in-office, based in Reston, VA. Periodic travel to Poland offices and project sites, as needed. POSITION DESCRIPTION The Senior Electrical Designer will be responsible for the design and layout of raceways, equipment locations, and conduits, as well as inputting and updating C&R schedules using Setroute. This role involves producing both lower and higher-tier drawings and documentation in alignment with established conceptual designs and project scope. Key responsibilities include modeling, performing cable pull calculations, designing lighting systems using AGi32, and developing grounding layouts, grounding designs/calculations, and lightning protection systems. Additionally, the Senior Electrical Designer will develop specifications for equipment and materials when deviations from standard documentation are necessary. RESPONSIBILITIES
Design and layout of electrical physical systems, including raceways, equipment locations, and conduit and aboveground raceway systems.
Develop and update C&R schedules using tools such as Setroute, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
Produce detailed drawings and documentation in line with established design standards and project scope, covering aspects such as lighting, communications, grounding, and lightning protection systems.
Work under the direction of the Engineering Group Supervisor and Lead Designer, while demonstrating the ability to work independently and creatively within Bechtel and industry-standard procedures.
Ensure that all electrical system designs adhere to applicable installation codes, regulations, and standards, while coordinating effectively with construction teams and subcontractors.
Utilize 2D and 3D CAD tools proficiently, along with electronic Cable Management Systems, to manage and update design data.
Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, maintaining strong communication and organizational skills.
Manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
AA/AS degree with 11 years of related electrical design experience; or in lieu of degree, a high school diploma or equivalent and 15 years of related design experience.
US Citizenship Required.
Must be able to complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
Possess active security clearance or ability to obtain security clearance.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Prior experience working in a Nuclear, Quality, and Safety Environment.
Experience in nuclear plant design (power plant or DOE facility).
Experience in working with procedures meeting quality assurance programs such as ASME-NQA-1, MIL-Q-9858A, or ISO-9000.
Knowledge of industry and regulatory guides, codes, and standards.
Hands-on Microsoft Office programs and other computer programs.
Extensive knowledge application of NEC code and ANSI/IEEE Standards.
Extensive knowledge of electrical raceway and electrical equipment layouts.
Previous hands-on or extensive working knowledge industry-wide design tools, such as CAD 2D/3D, cable designing and routing software.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS
Familiar with Bechtel standard programs.
Hands-on experience with SETROUTE program and be able to input and complete corrections in the data base.
Familiar with all Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs) and their application to projects.
Experience with Revit design tools.
Experience with SmartPlant 3D design tools.
Knowledge of design standards and guides, and Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPS).
Experience in construction interface and resolving field problems.
Experience with AP1000 Nuclear Power Plant Design.

Compensation for this position is hourly ($29.30 - $63.35) based on experience, background, and skills.
