Chief Engineer

POSITION OVERVIEWThe Chief Engineer will be responsible for planning, implementing, coordinating, and supervising all mechanical operations, maintenance, communications, energy management, and manpower development programs for assigned properties.RESPONSIBILITIESSupervise Engineers and maintenance staff, including hiring, training, personnel development, etc.Manage operational accounts for building as required and assist in the development of operating and capital budgetsAssist in maintenance/engineering issues as requiredRecommend/implement improvements for the preventive maintenance program on an ongoing basisDevelop/maintain effective building-specific maintenance and safety procedure manuals and enforce complianceCoordinate maintenance efforts with outside contractors, tenant finish personnel, and engineersOversee all building systems, including fire/life safety, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical issues; must remain current with the latest HVAC technology trendsMaintain ongoing communication with tenants, owners, property management, and vendorsMay assist in the solicitation and acquisition of new management contractsDevelop/maintain as-built drawingsRespond quickly to emergency situations (i.e., fire, evacuation, equipment failure, etc.) and customer concernsImplement and administer inventory control programs/purchase parts and suppliesDevelop specifications and assist in solicitation and administration of maintenance/repair service contractsEnsure compliance with applicable codes, requisitions, government agencies, and Company directives as relates to building operations.
